The fitter the better nowadays. Most recruits have foot problems from wearing trainers all the time. The boots make a mess of the feet.

If you can do 50 press up, 50 sit ups and run a mile and half in under 10 min 30 secs then you will be laughing when you turn up to basic training. Most recruits are pretty unfit when they arrive but get better while they are there.
If you are unfit and at the back of the squad you will attract unwanted attention, you will find the whole thing easier if you show up fit in the first place.

I wouldn’t worry to much about the fitness to gain entry into the army, its once you join that’s the tough part there will be bound to be some who is un fitter than u at the when you go to do your tests
