How much exercise do you really need to do in one week that is beneficial?

By admin | April 14, 2010

I know that the guidelines for exercise is around 30 minutes a day. But as I know and so do many others. It is sometimes impossible to fit this amount in.

So generally, I run around 4/5 times a week for around 30/40 minutes at a time. Covering around 4 miles each time. Now is this enough exercise? I am not running to lose weight, just to generally keep fit.

Many thanks to everyone who answers.

Of course. That is plenty and if you count walking/ doing normal everyday tasks such as making a bed, you do turn out to be doing more than 30 minutes a day.
Running is the best form of excersise, and as you’re doing it for 30/40 minutes 4/5 times a week that’s plenty to keep you in trim.
    :)

I would say for an adult about 3-4 hours would be good.
